Justin Slaughter, the Policy Director at Paradigm, the leading crypto investment firm, announced the company’s new endeavor of launching the Crypto Policy Council which includes the Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives (R-WI) Paul Ryan and the Director of Georgetown University’s Institute of International Economic Law, Chris Brummer as the Council advisors and other prominent figures as the council members.

Slaughter tweeted that tackling crypto policy challenges need “an array of perspectives and experiences” that the new team owns:

Interestingly, the company’s agenda is to advance crypto policies and services by “bringing together a diverse group of people and ideas”. Slaughter commented that as the crypto space covers a wide range of topics including the economy, finance, privacy, tech, etc, the council that holds people from different fields would help manage the area fruitfully.

On November 7, the company disclosed the details of the newly formed Paradigm Policy Council, “an impressive group of bipartisan talent with a diverse set of experiences”.

The Senior Advisor, Paul Ryan served as the 54th Speaker of the House of Representatives in the US from October 2015 to January 2019. His career spans over a variety of roles and positions. Similarly, Chris Brummer, the Senior Advisor is a Williams Research Professor and faculty Director of Georgetown’s Institute of International Economic Law. With a wide range of experiences in different fields, currently, he serves as a Scholar in Residence.

In addition, the council includes five eminent personalities as its members. It includes Marta Belcher, a counsel to the Electronic Frontier Foundation and an attorney at Ropes and Gray LLP, and Deb Callahan, an American environmental and political leader, and the League Conservation Voters’ former leader.

The council also includes Makan Delrahim, the former US Assistant Attorney General, Department of Justice Antitrust Division, Nicole Elam, the National Bankers Association President and CEO, Steve Israel, the former US Representative and the former Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and finally, Parker Polling, Partner at Harbinger Strategies and a member of the House of Representatives.
