Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) confirmed via X his involvement as an advisor with several unnamed governments on blockchain and cryptocurrency matters. The former crypto executive noted he functions in both official and unofficial capacities, advising on crypto regulatory frameworks and blockchain solutions beyond trading applications, a role he described as “extremely meaningful.”

Kyrgyz Republic Taps CZ for National Ecosystem Development

Zhao’s comments follow an announcement by President Sadyr Zhaparov of the Kyrgyz Republic, revealing the country’s National Investment Agency signed an agreement with CZ. The partnership aims to cooperate in developing the nation’s cryptocurrency and blockchain technology ecosystem.

According to Zhaparov, the collaboration will cover infrastructure, technological support, technical expertise, and consulting services. The Kyrgyz President stated Zhao will consult for his administration on crypto/blockchain and support educational service implementation. 

Partnership Aims to Boost Tech Infrastructure, Expertise

Zhaparov believes partnering with Zhao will “open new horizons” for developing digital technologies and the blockchain ecosystem in Kyrgyzstan. He framed the collaboration as a crucial step toward strengthening technological infrastructure and implementing innovative solutions.

The goals include preparing highly qualified specialists in blockchain technologies, virtual asset management, and cybersecurity. Zhaparov emphasized the importance of these elements for national economic development, virtual asset security, creating new business opportunities within the region, and supporting societal development.

Zhao’s partnership with the Kyrgyz government represents one of several advisory roles the former Binance chief is undertaking after stepping down as CEO.
