  • Ash Crypto points to QE, rate cuts, and macro easing as key risk-on drivers for altseason 2025
  • Ethereum ETF approval and Solana ETF filings could expand institutional access to altcoins
  • Bitcoin dominance, SEC tone shift, and weaker dollar round out bullish 2025 altcoin setup

Ash Crypto’s recent post on X published a new market outlook highlighting five key macro and industry-specific trends that could trigger a renewed altcoin rally in 2025. This goes in line with the ongoing talks about a potential altseason from various analysts for a while now.

The analysis points to monetary easing, ETF momentum, Bitcoin dominance patterns, regulatory developments, and shifting macro sentiment as converging signals.

Central Bank Rate Cuts and QE Expected by Late 2025

Ash identifies quantitative easing (QE) and interest rate cuts as potential catalysts for risk asset rallies in the second half of 2025. With the U.S. trade deficit hitting a record $162 billion in March, global trade tensions are pushing central banks toward stimulus to avoid recession.

The fact that the cryptocurrency market has seen increased interest in altcoin-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) is also a good sign for an altseason. The approval of Ethereum ETFs has set a precedent, opening the door for other altcoins like Solana to be considered for ETFs. The likes of Grayscale, Franklin Templeton, and Canary Capital have all filed for spot Solana ETFs.

Bitcoin Dominance Nears Levels Seen Before Past Altseasons

Another indicator is Bitcoin’s market dominance metric, which often peaks before a big altcoin rally. At the moment, Bitcoin’s dominance is approaching levels reminiscent of early 2021.

As always, clearer regulations could be a significant part of the possible altcoins boost or anything crypto-related. The good news is that the newly appointed SEC Chair Paul Atkins has emphasized the need for clearer regulations for the cryptocurrency sector. This is quite the contrast from the previous administration’s strict enforcement approach.

Weaker Dollar and Risk-On Appetite Favor Crypto Assets

Lastly, risk-on-environment plays a role as well. The decline of the US dollar has eased global financial conditions, making riskier assets like cryptocurrencies more attractive.

There are a lot of good points and arguments about the likelihood of an altseason this year. The overlap of potential monetary easing, the introduction of altcoin ETFs, regulatory advancements, and shifting investor sentiment are all great signs. While this isn’t a 100% sure thing (nothing is in the crypto industry), these developments warrant close attention from investors interested in the altcoin sector.
