Binance Announces Monthly Monitoring Tag Reviews, Enhancing Transparency for Risky Tokens

Binance Upgrades Token Risk Monitoring to Monthly Reviews
  • Binance now reviews Monitoring Tag additions monthly to enhance transparency and risk management.
  • High-volatility tokens face increased scrutiny, with potential delistings based on strict criteria.
  • BADGER, BURGER, AST, AERGO, ALPACA, and five more tokens will have the tags.

Binance exchange has announced a key change to its Monitoring Tag system. Starting March 4, 2025, the platform will switch to a monthly review cycle for adding new tokens to the Monitoring Tag list.

Binance explicitly stated in the announcement that community feedback influenced the decision to switch to a monthly schedule. This helps traders expect changes better and make smarter decisions.

Binance Monitoring Tag System Explained

The Monitoring Tag is for tokens that show much higher volatility and risk than other listed assets. Binance keeps a close watch on these tokens, checking their strength against certain criteria.

Traders wanting to invest in these assets must pass a quiz every 90 days to prove they understand the risks. Tokens with this tag could be delisted if they don’t meet Binance’s standards.

Predictable Monthly Reviews for High-Risk Tokens

Before, Binance did Monitoring Tag reviews without a set schedule. The new monthly schedule adds structure and predictability to the process, good for both investors and project teams.

It’s important to remember Binance checks the team’s commitment, project liquidity, public relations, network security, and smart contract security, among other things, before giving a Monitoring Tag.

Ten New Tokens Get Monitoring Tag

Market volatility and token performance is a big reason Binance has switched to monthly reviews. Binance confirmed that starting March fourth, ten more tokens will get the Monitoring Tag.

These are Aergo (AERGO), Alpaca Finance (ALPACA), AirSwap (AST), Badger DAO (BADGER), BurgerCities (BURGER), COMBO (COMBO), NULS (NULS), STP (STPT), UniLend (UFT), and VIDT DAO (VIDT.

Volatility Triggers Binance Action

Data from CoinMarketCap shows Alpaca Finance (ALPACA) fell 23.86% in a single day and is down 65.78% over the last year. Aergo (AERGO), AirSwap (AST), and BurgerCities (BURGER) have seen similarly big drops.

With such instability, monthly reviews will let Binance react fast to market trends and warn traders about high-risk assets quickly.
