Bitcoin.com has opened its first Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regional office in Dubai at the DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) Crypto Centre. The website is a leading platform for crypto news, education, and self-custody tools, and with its addition, DMCC’s ecosystem now hosts over 650 firms spanning blockchain infrastructure, DeFi, tokenization, and metaverse services.

With news like this and being bolstered by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), Dubai is slowly becoming a major crypto hub (if it isn’t already), as the city now offers progressive and clear regulations, ease of licensing, and a tax-friendly environment. In other words, everything that a global Web3 company would find attractive. Bitcoin.com, from the looks of it, aims to tap into the vibrant digital economy of the region and contribute its extensive know-how to regional growth.

The company’s CEO, Corbin Fraser, stated: “With clear and progressive regulations, a fast-track licensing process and a genuine appetite for innovation, Dubai has created one of the most welcoming environments in the world for Web3 companies. We are proud to establish our first MENA office here in Dubai and look forward to building strong partnerships across the region from our new home in DMCC.”

On the other hand, the Director of Ecosystems at DMCC, Belal Jassoma, added: “Bitcoin.com’s decision to establish its regional headquarters within our community highlights the global pull of the Crypto Centre and the scale of opportunity that Dubai represents today.”

DMCC is booming

In recent times, DMCC’s digital assets community has just kept on growing. With over 3,200 tech businesses under its belt, including 800 in blockchain, the ecosystem fosters collaboration among entities such as Cointelegraph, Solana Foundation, Bybit, Brinc, and many more.

The DMCC Crypto Centre is situated in Uptown Tower and forms the core of Dubai’s Web3 strategy. It offers business services, mentorships, capital access, accelerators, and top-tier infrastructure.

Additionally, DMCC hosts recurring hackathons with big prize pools and accelerator programs, which adds to the innovation and appeal of the zone.

Dubai’s reputation as a leading Web3 hub continues to strengthen as more global players enter the fray, especially since the city offers strategic advantages to both regional and international crypto initiatives – and Bitcoin.com is just the latest addition.
