  • A massive “Midnight Glacier” airdrop is coming to the Cardano network for its new privacy tokens
  • A snapshot on June 11 determined eligibility for holders of ADA, BTC, ETH, XRP, and more
  • A “Scavenger Mining” phase will offer a second chance for users who did not qualify initially

A new guide from a popular crypto podcast breaks down how users can capitalize on the upcoming “Midnight Glacier” airdrop, a massive token distribution event for Cardano’s new privacy-focused network. The airdrop will distribute the network’s new Knight (NIG) and Dust (DUST) tokens to millions of users across eight different blockchains.

How to Know If You Qualified for the Airdrop

According to the guide, a snapshot to determine eligibility was already taken on June 11, 2025. To have qualified for the initial phase, you needed to hold at least $100 worth of one of the following eight cryptocurrencies in a self-custody wallet:

  • ADA, BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, BNB, AVAX, or BAT

While the deadline to qualify for this first phase has passed, the guide explains there will be another opportunity for those who missed it.

Meanwhile, it is crucial to note that the deadline for qualification was June 11, when, according to the presenter, the airdrop issuers took a snapshot to confirm users who held those tokens.

What to expect from the Midnight Glacier airdrop

There is no firm date for the airdrop yet, but the presenter is confident it will happen before November 2025. Qualified users will receive Knight (NIG), the primary utility token of the Midnight ecosystem. Knight tokens will generate Dust (DUST), a separate, non-transferable token used to shield transactions and provide privacy on the network.

After the airdrop, there will be a 60-day window for eligible users to claim their tokens through an official portal.

Didn’t Qualify? There’s Still a Way to Earn

One of the most interesting parts of this airdrop is the “Scavenger Mining” phase. Any tokens that are not claimed within the initial 60-day period will become available for anyone in the broader crypto community to earn.

This provides a second chance for users who did not meet the original snapshot requirements to get involved and benefit from the token distribution, a unique feature designed to encourage widespread participation.
