- Cardano’s Charles Hoskinson calls out XRP community for online attacks.
- Hoskison has affirmed he would no longer discuss XRP.
- According to Hoskinson, XRP has no technical value.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has stated that he will no longer discuss Ripple or its native coin, XRP, due to the nasty insults he has received from the community.
During a livestream on December 16, Hoskinson said that the criticism stems from his position in the ongoing dispute between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he is accused of colluding with the regulator.
In an earlier post, the Cardano founder claimed that he had heard from “people familiar with the matter” that the lawsuit will be resolved on December 15. As the court case did not conclude on the promised date, several members of the XRP community began calling him a liar.
“I talked a bit about a rumor that I had heard from a pretty reliable source who was close to the case about a potential resolution of the case by December 15th. So, I just threw it out there and said, well, that’s something I’ve heard,” he said, referring to comments he made in a surprise AMA session on Dec 12.
Hoskinson stated that he does not feel it is necessary to respond to any inquiries pertaining to XRP or Ripple. He said he would remain silent about the subject even after it was resolved in court. Future inquiries will be met with a simple “no comment” from him, Hoskinson added.
The ADA founder claimed that because he allegedly disregarded the XRP community’s conspiracy theories about the case, he was abused, harassed, and mocked.
Never in my career in this space have I encountered a community so willing to viciously attack a person who, frankly, has not attacked them.
On the other hand, @3TGMCrypto labelled Hoskinson a coward for refusing to interact with the XRP community just for being insulted on Twitter. @3TGMCrypto recounted how Hoskinson refused to attended a conference with Bitcoin developers because he was insulted on Twitter.
Hoskinson was quick to defend himself, adding that he did not see any need to expose himself to such abusive and senseless negativity. He continued by saying that the XRP community is toxic and irrelevant and that XRP itself offers “no partnership or technical value.”
