In the volatile world of cryptocurrency, on-chain data reigns supreme. But harnessing the vast amounts of information generated on various blockchains is no small feat. Chainbase, the world’s largest omnichain data network, aims to tackle and solve this very same issue.

Founded in late 2021, Chainbase is committed to creating a unified ecosystem for blockchain data, leveraging AI to empower developers and projects. With over 15,000 developers and 8,000 project partners already on board, the platform is experiencing rapid growth and is backed by prominent investors including Tencent Investment Group and Matrix Partners.

We sat down with Chris Feng, Co-founder and COO of Chainbase, to explore the platform’s mission, its innovative Crypto World Model, and the future of AI in the crypto space.

1: Could you elaborate on Chainbase’s core mission of building an omnichain data network and the significance of building the crypto world model? How do these components contribute to the broader crypto ecosystem?

Chainbase, which we launched in late 2021, is all about unlocking the massive value hidden within on-chain data. We see it as one giant, interconnected global network. Our Chainbase Data Network gives people the tools they need to interact with and process this on-chain data. In just two years, we’ve built a thriving community of 15,000 developers, 8,000 project partners, and handled almost 500 billion data calls.

Our data network is built on four key layers:

  • Data Availability: An open door for both on-chain and off-chain data to come in.
  • Consensus and Execution: This makes sure data processing is efficient and everyone can see what’s happening.
  • Manuscript Interface: This allows for data to work together across different chains, trains AI models, and lets you get data in real-time.

We’re also working on something really exciting: the Crypto World Model. Think of it as a super-smart AI, kind of like GPT, but specifically for crypto. It takes high-quality on-chain data and turns it into insights you can actually use. It’ll even plug right into smart contracts, making them way smarter and better at making decisions.

I truly believe we’re just scratching the surface of what data can do. It’s not just about having it; it’s about using it to drive real growth. Just like Transformers changed the game for AI, our crypto world model will change how we think about on-chain data. It’ll become its own thing, something you can easily plug into smart contracts. Chainbase’s data network and this world model are on track to become essential tools for everyone in the decentralized AI world. It’s the next big step in how we use data.

2: How does Chainbase effectively integrate AI into its data network to extract meaningful insights and enhance user experience?

The crypto world is built on a mountain of blockchain data that’s growing every second. It’s packed with knowledge and hidden opportunities. At Chainbase, we’re constantly digging into this data, organizing it, and summarizing it so it’s easier for people to understand. But there’s a big hurdle: How do we make sense of all this hidden knowledge with the tools we have now?

That’s where our Crypto World Model comes in. We’re building it right into our data network. It’s designed to take tons of on-chain information and turn it into clear, reliable intelligence. We’re using advanced algorithms and tapping into the power of our community to make sure the data is kept private, strong, and transparent. We’re basically boiling down all that crypto knowledge into a special matrix that any Web3 project can use.

Our AI model gives you results you can trust by looking at crypto patterns and figuring out why things happen. It combines a powerful language model with a special crypto-focused one. And with something called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), it connects to real-time data from all chains and an AI that reads the internet, so you always get the latest, most reliable info. Users can even build their own AI models for specific tasks using our framework.

We’re convinced that our AI capabilities will be the future of on-chain intelligence. We’re talking about clear, trustworthy knowledge for everyone in Web3. Chainbase is here to push the crypto world forward by bringing AI and blockchain together.

3: What sets Chainbase apart from other data platforms in the crypto space?

Chainbase is different because we’re really focused on the people who work with data: the scientists, the engineers, and the apps that rely on data. We give them the basic tools they need to process data and make it easy for anyone working with AI and data to use our platform.

Also, we’ve built our system to work across multiple blockchains and let you process data in flexible ways. We’re even working on setting standards for how crypto data is processed so we can unlock even more value from it.

4: How do you address the challenges of data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility in such a dynamic and complex market?

In a market as fast-paced as crypto, making sure data is accurate, reliable, and easy to get to is a big deal. Here’s how Chainbase tackles these challenges:

  • Data Accuracy: We use a two-part consensus mechanism. Eigenlayer keeps our processing nodes secure, while Cosmos CometBFT makes sure the data that comes out is correct, so there’s no room for any funny business. We also use token rewards to encourage developers to give us top-notch data processing programs and keep improving them.
  • Data Reliability: Our Data Accessibility Layer is pretty innovative. It lets us combine on-chain and off-chain data into one decentralized data lake that anyone can access. We use fancy tech like zero-knowledge proofs and a special consensus model to guarantee the data’s integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Data Accessibility: Chainbase brings together data from lots of different chains, so you can access it all in one place. This makes it way easier to find and analyze data across different blockchains. We also promote open standards and provide strong APIs, so Chainbase works well with other platforms and tools. And our execution and consensus layers are built for speed, so you get the data you need quickly, even for real-time applications.

5: How is Chainbase tailoring crypto data to effectively address the unique query types and information requirements of developers?

In big crypto applications like DeFi, SocialFi, and Gaming, data can get siloed, making it hard to query and get useful insights.

Chainbase solves this with a modular system that grows along with crypto applications. Developers can pick and choose different modules to build their own custom data processing workflows.

We also reward contributors for coming up with unique query requirements, building a community-driven knowledge base. By bringing together cross-chain data, offering a single access point, and using a flexible, incentive-driven model, Chainbase makes data querying and processing a whole lot easier for developers in the crypto world.

6: What is Chainbase’s vision for the future? How do you see the platform evolving in terms of data capabilities, AI integration, and market expansion?

Our big goal is to become the go-to open data layer for the age of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). To get there, we’re focused on a few key things: making on-chain data more available, getting more people in the crypto world to use it, and smoothly integrating AI capabilities.

First off, we need to establish a consensus that puts data at the center. High-quality, standardized data is key. We’re working hard to define on-chain data standards and make sure data processing is transparent and trustworthy.

Next, we want to speed up crypto adoption by making data easier to use. Chainbase is all about making data valuable and accessible to everyone. We’re doing this with standardized schemas, natural language indexing, multidimensional labeling, and AI integration.

Finally, AI integration is a major focus for us. Data is the fuel for powerful AI. Just like we’ve always supported the industry with basic data tools, we’re now building AI solutions specifically for crypto. We’re developing special foundation models and integrating them right into our data network. It’ll be like public Wi-Fi for AI, letting developers, projects, and users tap into its power easily. We want to transform on-chain data from just information into actionable intelligence, bringing AI and blockchain data together.
