Binance’s former CEO Changpeng Zhao unveiled a testnet lesson for his recently launched education-based project, known as Giggle Academy. Zhao shared a video clip on his X account involving a lesson in an installable Android Package Kit (Apk).

In March 2024, Changpeng Zhao, who previously stepped back as the CEO of Binance in connection with the ongoing legal and regulatory challenges, launched Giggle Academy. Zhao pleaded guilty to violating anti-money laundering laws and agreed with a $4.3 billion settlement in November 2023, departing from Binance.

Giggle Academy focuses on providing free education to underprivileged children worldwide. The concept paper elaborated on the platform’s founding idea: “Building a high-quality and sticky education platform that is entirely free and accessible to all is the most impactful thing I could do for the next chapter of my life.”

In his recent X post, Zhao incorporated the screen recording of the app from his phone. While the video clip lacked audio, he clarified that the audio was removed as it sounded weird after editing. He added,

“This is a “testnet” lesson. We are still changing quite a bit of it. Don’t read too much into it. This version is mainly for me to confirm that we got a complete team that can actually produce something.”

Further, he addressed the developer team’s efforts for the project. He wrote, “We had to design the characters, the content, make animations, make audio, use a game engine, and a whole bunch of developers.”

The initiative received a wide range of acceptance and appreciation. Data Engineer Don Manning acknowledged Giggle Academy as a “promising” project. He posited that the platform would be a “huge boon” to several children, especially in countries like Africa.
