Analyst AltcoinBuzz has opened up about which coin has better growth potential, real-world use, and community power.
Dogecoin: The First and Most Famous
Dogecoin was created in 2013 as a joke, inspired by the popular “Doge” meme. But what started as a meme soon turned into a serious project, especially after Elon Musk tweeted about it multiple times. Today, Dogecoin is worth nearly $40 billion and is used for things like payments and tipping online.

However, Dogecoin has one major problem, it has no limit on its supply. Despite that, DOGE is up 70% this month and is currently trading at around $0.26.
The analyst said, “I can see Doge crashing through the $1 barrier later this year because, whether you like it or not, there is this appetite.”
Bonk: The Memecoin That Helped Solana Bounce Back
Bonk is a much newer coin, launched at the end of 2022 during a tough time for the Solana network. Solana was struggling after the FTX crash, but Bonk brought fresh energy. Since then, Bonk has become the leading memecoin on the Solana blockchain.

Bonk has seen a sharp rise in price, gaining nearly 180% over the past 30 days. As of now, it’s trading at $0.003521. Despite the surge, Bonk’s market cap stands at $2.73 billion—still less than one-tenth the size of Dogecoin’s. However, it also means it has more room to grow. Bonk’s launchpad, “Let’s Bonk,” has even outperformed other popular platforms like Pump.fun.
Which One is Better in 2025?
The analyst said that Dogecoin is the original. It has the trust of longtime investors and is a symbol of the memecoin world. But it’s older, already huge in value, and its unlimited supply could hold it back from growing fast.
On the flip side, Bonk is newer, faster, and tied closely to the Solana network, which is also booming in 2025. It has real use cases and a strong community behind it. With more space to grow, Bonk might be the better short-term trade this year.
