- The conversation regarding Tesla’s original ownership still remains in the crypto space.
Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Dogecoin, has yet again defended their chief patron and primary supporter, millionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk. This time it was in a Twitter conversation that Crypto analyst and social media personality Whole Mars Catalog started.
Posting a picture of a conversation from 2020, Whole Mars Catalog sarcastically remarked that Elon did not start SpaceX. This was in response to an article shared by Ben Sandofsky, cofounder of Halide Camera. The article in question, titled “Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc was founded by others and he was credited as co-founder through a lawsuit settlement,” delved into the topic of Tesla’s controversial beginnings.
In the conversation beneath the article, Ben Sandofsky and another user also discussed SpaceX not being Musk’s own creation. This is where Whole Mars Catalog intervened to defend Musk with humor. Nakamoto added on with another sarcastic remark:
I heard that Elon Musk doesn’t build every single rocket and car from scratch with his own bare hands and has people WORKING for him that do things! the atrocity.
One of the 2020 articles’ more controversial points is that credit of Tesla’s creation belongs to Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning who originally started the company in 2003. This story, which was quite popular at the time, detailed Musk’s efforts to be seen as the mind behind Tesla, despite only having been a major investor in the early stages.
It is also interesting to note that Eberhard was thrown out of the company later on. He then went on to sue Tesla and Musk for libel and breach of contract alleging that Musk sought to “rewrite history” by taking credit for the accomplishments and the idea behind Tesla Motors.
