Last Updated:
analysis of the Ethereum (ETH) price prediction, with analysts forecasting a potential rally to $8,500.
  • Ethereum could rally to $8,500 by the end of 2025.
  • ETH often reaches 30 – 35% of Bitcoin’s market cap during major bull runs.
  • Many analysts expect Bitcoin to grow past $150,000 by the end of 2025.

According to a crypto trader’s analysis of past bull runs, Ethereum’s price could climb above $8,500 if Bitcoin reaches the $150,000 milestone.

The trader based his analysis on a mathematical calculation, which revealed that ETH often reaches 30 – 35% of Bitcoin’s market cap during major bull runs.

Institutional interest is boosting Ethereum’s demand

The renowned trader’s submission has set the crypto community buzzing amid a surge in Ethereum’s price. The cryptocurrency moved closer to its all-time high after gaining over 10% within the past 24 hours. ETH climbed above $4,600 and traded for $4,629 at the time of writing, according to TradingView’s data.

The institutional fuel. This “institutional interest” isn’t just a theory; it’s billions of dollars. Here’s our earlier report on the $1 Billion ETF buying.

In the meantime, crypto analysts have identified institutional interest as a significant factor behind Ethereum’s growing demand. ETH spot ETFs often attract up to $1 billion in daily inflows amid potential Ethereum purchases by notable stakeholders such as BitMine, which plans to acquire $20 billion worth of Ethereum tokens soon.

Typically, increased inflow, especially from institutional players, would boost Ethereum’s TVL, which is currently over $95 billion, according to data from DefiLlama. The metric highlights the surging interest in the flagship altcoin amid bullish forecasts that support its current momentum.

This trend is prompting major players to revise their forecasts. Banking giant Standard Chartered has raised its ETH forecast to $7,500 by the end of 2025 (up from $4,000) and is now calling for a $25,000 ETH by 2028.

The Bitcoin connection

Of course, for ETH to hit $8,500, the market leader needs to do its part. Many crypto analysts are confident that Bitcoin will break above its current all-time high of $123,236 and head for the $150,000 psychological milestone.

Several crypto market experts expect Bitcoin to break above that landmark and head for higher levels. They include Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes, and Unchained Market Research director Joe Burnett, all of whom predict that Bitcoin will rally to $250,000 before the end of 2025.

According to data from TradingView, Bitcoin’s price was $120,066 at the time of writing, signaling the return of bullish momentum in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The cryptocurrency gained nearly 10% in the past 10 days after a pullback that saw the price drop to $111,919 on August 3.

What about tomorrow? The long-term targets are huge, but here’s CoinEdition’s report on ETH’s next 24-hour move.
