  • Charles Hoskinson did not make it to CoinDesk’s 2022 most influential people list.
  • “We make our own path,” responds Hoskinson.
  • CoinDesk’s poll is live till October 24.

Cryptocurrency news platform, CoinDesk has unleashed their annual most influential people in cryptocurrency polls but people are shocked that Input-Output Global (IOHK) co-founder, Charles Hoskinson is not included in the list of nominees.

Calling out CoinDesk, one Twitter user @RonzoCrypto wrote that the poll is a “joke” while expressing his surprise to find Charles Hoskinson is not a nominee and stating Cardano (ADA) must be a threat.

Hoskinson replied to the tweet hinting that their relationship with CoinDesk is not rosy after all. “Does someone want to explain to this guy our history with @CoinDesk? If we won the vanity poll, election counters would be debating it for the next five years,“ stresses Hoskinson.

But Hoskinson is not the only major cryptocurrency market player who was left out. Crypto Twitter is shocked to find that Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, was also excluded from the list. “They have Kim K and Cobie but left out Charles and CZ. This is how much of a joke this list is.” wrote one Twitter user.

However, while listing the 100 contenders, CoinDesk has mentioned that users are allowed to write anyone’s name that they feel is deserving and the platform has failed to mention this. The poll is live till October 24 and CoinDesk has asked the public to help narrow down the 100 nominees to a 50-person list.

Contenders include many popular names including @Bowtiedbull Twitter account, QuadrigaCX co-founder Michael Patryn, Ethereum Foundation executive director Aya Miyaguchi, a 16z’s crypto head Chris Dixon, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, 19-year-old NFT artist FEWOCiOUS, and many more amongst a selection of artists, entrepreneurs, politicians, actors, and so on.
