Jim Bianco, the president of Bianco Research, bashes Canadian entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary for his recent tweet on the whole FTX drama. Leary stated in one of his recent tweets that he would rather invest in an entrepreneur who has felt the sting of failure because they can appreciate the difficulty of starting a company. However, O’Leary didn’t get the warmest welcome for his remarks.
Bianco responded to his tweet by saying he didn’t invest with an entrepreneur. He also stated that he was paid $15 million with stolen customer money to defend the reputation of a criminal.
If you’re incapable of telling the difference, delete your account and just go away. You are a dangerous person.
The president of Bianco Research also stressed that if O’Leary had integrity, he would return the $15 million to FTX administrators. He also added that until he does that, he doesn’t see a difference between him and a low-life hustler.
O’Leary previously admitted that he had lost the $15 million that FTX had paid him. He admitted on CNBC that he received a $15 million payment from the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX to serve as the exchange’s spokesperson.
The Canadian businessman claimed that he fell prey to “groupthink,” and he was also criticized for failing to exercise due diligence with his investments. The $32 billion cryptocurrency empire of Sam Bankman-Fried collapsed in a few days and also strangled the funds of millions who vested their funds with the exchange.
The Shark Tank judge’s recent tweet received a slew of backlash for considering Sam Bankman-Fried as an entrepreneur. Many users took to Twitter to express their disagreement with his statement.
