VICTORIA, SEYCHELLES, July 30, 2025 — MEXC Ventures announced its strategic sponsorship of the W3K Web3 Summit. The summit took place in Kochi, Kerala, as part of the Kerala Innovation Festival 2025 (KIF).
This was India’s largest government-backed innovation gathering, organized by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and designed to be the gateway for the country’s next wave of Web3 innovators.
Marking a decade of KSUM, this year’s event took place from July 25 to July 26, and attracted more than 10,000 attendees, including developers, students, startups, investors, and public-sector leaders from across India.
By joining, MEXC Ventures is investing in long-term community development as well as growing its visibility in a market projected to hit at least 156 million users by 2027.
MEXC Ventures backed the W3K segment, which showcases the real-world potential of decentralized technologies to India’s next generation of innovators. The initiative featured immersive experiences across several zones. The main stage is where talks, panels, and fireside chats took place, bringing together ecosystem enablers.
The event also featured an interactive arena for gaming enthusiasts, where they got to experience several crypto-native Web3 games, including popular titles like Off the Grid, Shutterline, and Paradise Tycoon, all built on Avalanche.
Those looking for more practical experience joined a mentor-led workshop zone. The session offered guided training and post-event opportunities to beginners and aspiring developers with a focus on the Avalanche blockchain.
“We see huge potential in enabling these builders with the right exposure and tools. Partnering with Web3 Kerala at KIF is our way of contributing to a more inclusive and credible blockchain dialogue in the region,” said Petra Zhu, Head of South Asia Markets at MEXC Ventures.
Unlike typical crypto events, W3K took a cross-sectoral approach to Web3, placing blockchain technology alongside artificial intelligence, sustainability, and public sector innovations.
India is at the forefront of global tech talent, with an estimated 20% of the population holding digital assets, according to a past Consensys and YouGov survey.
Kerala, where the event was held, is a microcosm of India’s Web3 growth prospects. More than 8% of users on India’s top cryptocurrency platforms are from the state, even though it is home to less than 3% of the nation’s estimated 1.46 billion population.
Additionally, it boasts the second-highest urbanization rate on the subcontinent at 48%, alongside a strong IT infrastructure and youth-led digital fluency. This made it the perfect starting point for deeper blockchain engagement.
The broader Kerala Innovation Festival is backed by the Government of Kerala and marks a decade of impact by Kerala Startup Mission, which has supported 6,500+ startups and enabled over ₹6,000 crore in funding to date.
“Kerala’s Innovation Festival 2025 is a celebration of bold ideas, emerging technologies, and the Indian entrepreneurial spirit,” said Sri. Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Special Secretary of Electronics & IT for the Government of Kerala. “This festival showcases the growing strength in AI, Robotics, Deeptech, and social impact innovation.”
