Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has published a proposal from the Shiba Inu ecosystem addressed to the incoming President of the United States and the global community on establishing a Strategic Hub for Innovation and Blockchain (S.H.I.B.). In a blog post, Kusama mentioned his team’s plans to create the hub in a U.S. city, transforming it and the nation into a global epicenter for blockchain technology and sustainable development.
Kusama published the post in the early hours of November 5, 2024, a significant date in U.S. history. It is the date of the keenly contested presidential election between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Besides the proposal details, members of the crypto community view the timing as significant, considering the growing role of crypto assets in the national conversation.
According to Kusama’s proposal, the S.H.I.B. project would use blockchain technology to boost economic growth, generate high-quality jobs, and strengthen national security. He argues that this initiative could support the United States’ leadership in advanced technologies and secure a competitive edge.

Such plans include developing physical infrastructure by constructing facilities, creating a sustainable design, and transporting enhancements. Besides the physical infrastructure, Kusama’s team aims to install a digital framework to provide high-speed connectivity, data centers, and blockchain nodes and networks.
The proposal includes an estimated cost range for the S.H.I.B. project, with physical and digital infrastructure projected between $700 million and $1.2 billion. Additional costs are expected for economic incentives like tax breaks, grants, funding programs, and public-private partnerships, amounting to between $300 million and $600 million.
Kusama emphasized that the S.H.I.B. project represents an opportunity for the U.S. to secure a leading role in technologies set to shape the global economy.
