During the pre-launch testing phase, Seeker codenamed “Chapter Two,” sold over 140,000 across 57 countries, Solana claimed.

Solana Co-Founder and Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko explained the phone is designed to be more affordable. He also mentioned the device’s software-hardware to remain deeply integrated with web3, further commenting:

“We founded Solana Mobile with the mission of taking crypto mobile…The support from across the Solana community so far has been incredible, and with features like the new Seed Vault Wallet and the updated Solana dApp Store, we think Seeker will be the definitive web3 mobile device when it comes out next year.”

Revealing Seeker’s hardware upgrades, Emmet Hollyer, the project lead of Solana Mobiles, touched upon the phone’s improved battery life, an upgraded camera module, and a sleeker formfactor compared to Saga.

Built-in Crypto Wallet

Importantly, the Seeker smartphone includes a custom-built crypto wallet. The wallet works with the devices’ Seed Vault key storage and lets users store and manage their crypto keys securely. Compared to Saga, the new features on Seeker will enable smooth and efficient crypto transactions.

The platform clarified that the Solana Seeker wouldn’t focus solely on free memecoins; it’s not just a memecoin phone. The Seeker phone aims to tap into the Solana network’s full potential, supporting various use cases, including memecoins, DeFi, payments, and games.

Solana mobile airdrop checker TwoLoot revealed a significant difference between tokens airdropped to Saga and Seeker users. According to the data, the current value of tokens airdropped to Seeker users is roughly $265. In contrast, the airdrops for Saga users were valued at $1,350.
