Solana’s smartphone, Saga, has recently seen a hike in sales following the surge in Solana memecoin BONK. The increasing demand for the Solana phone is reportedly the community’s rush for a 30 million BONK airdrop available exclusively for Saga users.

Raj Gokak, Solana’s co-founder, shared an X post on December 15, shedding light on the 10x surge in the Saga sale. He wrote, “Solana phone sales have > 10x’d in the past 48 hours, and are now on track to sell out before the new year.”

Amidst the growing demand for Saga, Solana Mobile brought a limitation to the purchase of the mobile phone to ensure a wider reach of the phone, stating, “We’re limiting Saga purchases to one per household.” Similarly, Solana’s CEO, Anatoly Yakovenko, commented on the need to increase Saga’s price, acknowledging the increasing sales of the device.

In April 2023, Solana unveiled the hardware specification of Saga, announcing its price, which stood at around $1,000. Solana launched the phone in May 2023.

Saga’s launch was reportedly accompanied by a $10 worth of BONK airdrop. At the time of the announcement, BONK, valued at around $0.0000004, didn’t bring much hype. However, the BONK airdrop has currently attracted the community, setting the stage for Saga’s rise.Currently, BONK is trading for $0.00003042, exhibiting massive growth of 105.1% in one day, 142.72% in seven days, and 1,147.27% in 30 days.
