  • Harmeet Dhillon sheds light on Trump’s support for the establishment of crypto markets in the US.
  • While Trump promised a crypto army, President Biden built an anti-crypto army.

Donald Trump, hailed as the first US Presidential candidate to promote Bitcoin in campaign donations, recently declared himself a “Crypto President.” During a San Francisco fundraiser on Thursday, Trump called himself a champion of cryptocurrencies while criticizing the Democrats’ anti-crypto stance.

Republican National Committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon commented on Trump’s support for crypto, asserting that the 45th US President has emphasized the significance of cryptocurrencies in the US economy.

Trevor Traina, a San Francisco-based tech executive and former Trump ambassador to Austria, stated, “He [Trump] said he would be the crypto president.” However, Trump’s crypto policies remain unspecified, as highlighted by Dhillon.

These statements come amid the controversy surrounding the US Presidential candidates’ diverse approaches to cryptocurrencies. While President Biden has announced the formation of an anti-crypto army, Trump promises his followers to build a crypto army.

In an earlier speech, Trump had questioned Biden and other Democrats’ skeptical approach to cryptocurrencies, claiming that the US President is unaware of what crypto is. In addition, Trump highlighted the necessity of bringing regulatory clarity to the US crypto market.

Nonetheless, Biden’s White House has also shown interest in developing a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies. White House spokesperson Robyn Patterson stated that the Biden administration supports the establishment of virtual assets and seeks to protect consumers from “risks associated with new technologies.”

Bitcoin Magazine’s recent report headlined, “Trump Becomes First President to Accept Bitcoin Lightning Payments for Campaign Donations,” has caught attention. Trump’s dedication to fostering a crypto-friendly ecosystem in the nation is evident from his recent moves, including the acceptance of crypto donations.
