- The US Attorneys have initiated their investigation on DCG and its subsidiaries.
- The company or its subsidiaries haven’t been accused of any illegal activities.
- SEC has also started to investigate the monetary dealings of the company.
Reportedly, the US Government has decided to probe into the financial dealings of the venture capital company Digital Currency Group (DCG).
Notably, the details of the investigation have been informed by a group of people familiar with the matter. The group is unwilling to reveal its identity as the investigation is confidential.
The US attorneys of Brooklyn have initiated their procedures to delve into the transactions DCG has gone through, as well as the investors’ comments about the transactions.
It is to be noted that the investigators have accused neither the company nor its subsidiaries Grayscale and Genesis of any illegal activities; the probe is just an initial phase.
Considerably, a spokesperson told about DCG:
DCG has a strong culture of integrity and has always conducted its business lawfully. We have no knowledge of or reason to believe that there is any Eastern District of New York investigation into DCG.
Significantly, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has also started investigating the commercial details and monetary dealings of DCG and its subsidiaries. As an initial procedure, the company has been requested to submit the documents by the SEC officials and the prosecutors.
So far, the US Attorney’s Office or the SEC hasn’t uttered a single comment about the investigation. The investigation is done secretly, and thus the current status of the act is unknown.
Furthermore, the officials of Genesis said that the company maintains regular communications and cooperates with the authorities and the regulators when an inquiry is necessary.
