The latest announcement from Wellgistics Health regarding the launch of its XRP Implementation Program is garnering attention. On Wednesday, the company announced it would be integrating the XRP Ledger (XRPL) into its pharmaceutical payment and treasury infrastructure.

This initiative introduces real-world utility for XRP, enabling instant low-cost payments for over 6,500 independent pharmacies and more than 200 pharmaceutical manufacturers across the United States. It also highlights institutional confidence in the token’s functionality beyond speculation.

Wellgistics’ XRP Integration

The program will streamline payment processes for independent pharmacies, removing the friction and delays caused by traditional banking and credit card systems. According to Wellgistics Health, the XRP-powered system delivers:

  • Instant settlement
  • Bypasses costly banking and card network charges
  • 24/7 availability – payments work anytime, including weekends and holidays
  • Faster capital turnaround for inventory restock
  • Real-time tracking of payment status
  • No intermediaries – direct payments between pharmacies and distributors

“This is about giving pharmacies a faster, smarter financial toolkit,” said Brian Norton, CEO of Wellgistics Health.

RxERP Partnership

The XRP Implementation Program operates in partnership with RxERP. The company handles pharmacy onboarding, transaction processing, and compliance management. Together, Wellgistics Health and RxERP are building a blockchain financial ecosystem for the pharmaceutical industry.

XRP Powers More Than Payments

Beyond payments, Wellgistics Health has filed an S-1 registration with the SEC, outlining its strategy to use XRP for treasury management and capital raising. According to the filing, Wellgistics intends to leverage XRP and the XRPL for transparent capital movement.

Following the initial pharmacy rollout, the next phase of the program includes:

  • Onboarding pharmaceutical manufacturers for direct, on-chain B2B payments.
  • Launching Direct-to-Patient (DTP) programs, allowing medications to be shipped directly to patients’ homes via integrated pharmacy-manufacturer workflows.

He describes it as “real utility and use for XRP and the XRPL.”
