While Fun, $1000 XRP Far Off; Analysts Instead See $4.5 This Year for the Token

What if XRP Hits $1,000?
  • Chris Larsen could become the world’s first trillionaire if XRP reaches $1,000 per token
  • Larsen is known to hold a huge amount of XRP, 2.7 billion XRP to be exact
  • X community members weren’t optimistic about this price prediction

The recent X post by Future XRP speculates that Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen could become the world’s first trillionaire if XRP reaches $1,000 per token. It’s more of a fun debate than anything serious, considering XRP has a long way to go before reaching a four-digit number.

Still, the crypto community engaging in the discussion does point out the ongoing interest in XRP’s potential and the dynamics of large token holdings.

Larsen’s Vast XRP Holdings Fuel Trillionaire Speculation

Chris Larsen has been known to hold a substantial amount of XRP. Earlier this year, the blockchain investigator ZachXBT reported that dormant wallets linked to Larsen moved over 2.7 billion XRP, valued at approximately $7.18 billion at the time.

If XRP gets to $1,000 in the future, it’s easy to see how Larsen would become the world’s first trillionaire. We’d also have a bunch of new millionaires and billionaires.

Certain community members were outright dismissive, saying that XRP will never reach $1,000, and that it probably won’t even reach $100.

While it’s fun to speculate, the reality is completely different. With its current price of $2.19, it would be a huge boost to XRP if the price even reached $10, let alone a hundred times that. Some analysts and predictions show that XRP could reach around $4.5 this year, which would be great news for the XRP community if true, but still far, far away from big numbers.

Ripple’s Recent Progress: RLUSD, XRPL Roadmap, Brazil Spot ETF

In the last half a year or so, Ripple had a lot going on. Near the end of 2024, it introduced RLUSD, a US dollar-pegged stablecoin. The company also unveiled its XRP Ledger roadmap, focusing on institutional DeFi, compliance upgrades, and improved programmability. Some of the key initiatives include the introduction of permissioned decentralized exchanges, credit-based DeFi solutions, and the launch of an EVM-compatible sidechain.

In February this year, the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission approved the world’s first spot XRP ETF. Called HASHDEX NASDAQ XRP FUNDO DE ÍNDICE, it’s listed on the B3 stock exchange, marking a big milestone for XRP’s institutional adoption.

In the end, while the idea of XRP reaching $1,000 is intriguing, realistically speaking, that number is light years away. However, with XRP’s ongoing developments, the cryptocurrency might see some price increase in the future, where even $5 would be huge news for the community.
