- Paul Grewal highlighted some of the major crypto events that are scheduled for this Wednesday.
- The events included the SEC’s motion hearing, the Hinman documents’ release, and the SEC’s response to Coinbase.
- Deaton, in response to Grewal, added that tomorrow would be a Big Day for crypto.
John E Deaton, the pro-XRP lawyer, recently shared a Twitter post inviting his 272.4k followers’ attention to the long-awaited hearings and resolutions in the US Federal Court. As a response to a recent tweet shared by Paul Grewal, the Chief Legal Officer at the crypto exchange Coinbase, Deaton asserted that this Wednesday would be a “Big Day” for crypto.
In his tweet, Grewal itemized the phenomenal events that are supposed to take place tomorrow. The events included the hearing on the SEC’s motion to freeze Binance’s assets, the release of the Hinman documents, and the SEC’s response to Coinbase’s petition.
The previous week, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a motion to freeze the assets belonging to the beleaguered crypto exchange Binance, a move that would affect dozens of accounts related to the exchange. The hearing of the case is scheduled for June 13, 2023, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Similarly, the controversial Hinman documents that are expected to mark a turning point in the SEC- Ripple war, are scheduled to be released on Wednesday. As per a tweet by Deaton, the documents would highly impact the SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple as well as other exchanges.
The leading crypto firm Coinbase filed a petition against the SEC, asking for regulatory clarities. When the regulatory body delayed responding to the petition, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ordered the SEC to respond within seven days, which is expected to be on June 13.
Reflecting on these events that are scheduled for tomorrow, Grewal commented, “Not every federal court day is eventful in crypto, but tomorrow is,” adding “May God bless the US Courts.”
Responding to Grewal’s post, Deaton added that the former US President Donald Trump’s arraignment would also take place tomorrow.
As per reports, Trump has arrived in Florida for his first court appearance scheduled on June 13, following his indictment on charges of mishandling the country’s security secrets. He was also charged with non-cooperating in the authority’s efforts to recover the documents.
