Yaps, a key social analytics platform for Crypto Twitter, just rolled out updated leaderboard rankings after fixing an internal data disruption. The company says the earlier issue caused some wonky engagement metrics, temporarily misrepresenting the influence of certain accounts. Yaps has since completed a data backfill for the affected period, leading to adjustments in engagement tallies across the board.
According to the newly corrected data, Ultra (@0x_ultra) now officially ranks first on the Yaps leaderboard, having recorded 527 earned yaps.
Yaps Data Backfill Adjusts Rankings: Ultra (@0x_ultra) Leads with 527 Earned Yaps; WenMoon Tops Referral Yaps
These are all noted as being obtained through direct user interaction, a key measure of organic engagement. The leaderboard, which updates hourly, shows several changes in individual rankings and overall engagement structures following this data correction. Following Ultra (@0x_ultra) in total earned yaps are Shaunda Devens with 219 yaps and avgcryptoguy, who secured 197 yaps.
While total earned yaps remain a primary metric, Yaps also captures other forms of engagement. For instance, the account WenMoon recorded the highest number of referral yaps at 93, indicating a high level of peer-sourced interactions and influence during the reviewed period.
Yaps “Smart Follower Rate” Shows True Audience Quality; Crypto Carl Shines
Beyond just counting total yaps, the Yaps leaderboard incorporates advanced metrics aimed at identifying genuine community impact and audience quality. Accounts like Top tick crypto and Crypto Carl demonstrated strong smart follower percentages in the updated data. Crypto Carl, for example, reported an 8.75% smart follower rate from his total of 12,101 followers. This marks one of the highest proportional smart audiences among all the ranked users, suggesting a highly engaged and potentially knowledgeable following.
Other accounts showed their influence through sheer numbers of smart followers. Tim Copeland, for instance, reported 2,528 smart followers, while Scoopy Trooples recorded an impressive 3,341. Interestingly, some discrepancies emerged between overall follower count and measured audience quality. DCinvestor, although positioned 14th in terms of total earned yaps, had the largest raw follower base on the list at 263,393.
However, that account’s smart follower rate stood at a comparatively lower 2.60%. This highlights Yaps’ point that a high follower count doesn’t always translate to active or deeply engaged interaction. The restored dataset and revised leaderboard rankings from Yaps now aim to provide a more accurate and nuanced view of true interaction quality and influence across Crypto Twitter.
