A wallet linked to venture capitalist Tim Draper also moved 1,000 BTC, worth about $61.82 million, to Coinbase Prime. Crypto-focused Erebor Bank is in talks for a new funding round targeting a valuation of at least $8 billion, nearly double its level from late last year, as deposits surged to $4.05 billion over the past three months.

Tokenization Push Gains Momentum

Ondo Finance launched SEC-compliant tokenized products tied to BlackRock’s IVV ETF and Micron shares, using a third-party custody framework the SEC issued earlier this year. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said tokenized real-world assets, not meme coins, will define the industry’s next growth phase, following the launch of the platform’s Stock Tokens service. Robinhood Chain’s ecosystem TVL has already reached $38.79 million, led by Robinhood-native pools and Morpho.

Policy and Regulatory Developments

US nonfarm payrolls rose by just 57,000 in June, well below the 110,000 forecast, even as unemployment unexpectedly fell to 4.2%. Russia’s central bank confirmed the digital ruble will launch on September 1, while separately taking a cautious stance on stablecoins, framing them only as a supplement to CBDC-based settlement. In the US, a housing bill containing a four-year Fed CBDC ban awaits Trump’s signature, though he has tied it to passage of a separate elections bill.

JPMorgan warned that Strategy’s new Bitcoin sale policy introduces “avoidable two-way risk” to the market, given the company holds nearly 4% of total BTC supply. Trump defended his family’s crypto-related profits, calling reports of conflicts of interest a non-issue, while Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen was revealed to have backed a trading platform founded by a senator’s son involved in ethics negotiations over the Clarity Act.
