  • 500M XRP left Binance in under a year, cutting reserves to their lowest level since Feb. 2024.
  • Outflows may signal long-term accumulation, ETF demand, or routine Binance wallet movements.
  • Lower exchange supply could support XRP long term, but it does not guarantee an immediate price rise.

Roughly 500 million XRP have left Binance over the past year. That’s a big number, and it has traders asking whether it is a sign that big holders are buying and storing XRP for the long haul.

Why Did 500 Million XRP Leave Binance?

According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, XRP reserves on Binance have been shrinking steadily. Back in November 2025, the monthly average of XRP held on Binance was about 3.1 billion coins.

Today, that average has dropped to around 2.6 billion. That’s a fall of 500 million XRP in less than a year, pushing reserves down to levels not seen since February 2024.

Interestingly, this decline happened even while XRP’s price fell hard, from a high of $3.66 down to about $1.35 today, a drop of 63%. Normally, falling prices might tempt people to sell. Instead, coins kept leaving the exchange.

Where Could the Tokens Have Gone?

There are three likely explanations.

  1. Accumulation. Some investors may be moving their XRP off Binance and into private wallets they control. This is a common move for people planning to hold long-term rather than trade.
  2. ETF demand. Interestingly, spot XRP ETFs launched in November and December 2025. To meet demand from ETF buyers, issuers likely had to purchase XRP on the open market and move it into custody, pulling supply off exchanges like Binance.
  3. Internal exchange adjustments. Binance itself sometimes shifts reserves around to match customer activity. This factor is probably minor here, since the data is a monthly average, but it’s worth noting.

Does This Mean Investors Are Accumulating XRP?

The scale and consistency of the outflow suggest genuine accumulation. When reserves fall for months, even during a price slump, it points to people choosing to hold rather than trade.

But could this push XRP’s price up?

Not automatically. Fewer coins on exchanges means less immediately available supply for sale. In theory, if demand stays the same while supply tightens, prices may rise. But an outflow doesn’t guarantee an immediate rally.

This kind of shift usually plays out over months, not days. It reflects a change in investor behavior and market structure, not a single event that will move prices tomorrow. Short-term price swings still depend on broader market conditions, news, and overall crypto sentiment.

What Else Should XRP Investors Watch?

Before treating this as a strong bullish signal, keep an eye on:

  • Whether reserves keep falling or start climbing back during price rebounds
  • Trading volume and overall market demand for XRP
  • ETF inflows and outflows, since these drive large supply moves
  • Crypto market trends, since XRP doesn’t move in isolation

Should You Buy, Hold, or Wait?

The falling reserves are a mildly positive sign for XRP’s long-term outlook, but they aren’t a reason to expect an immediate price jump. Investors should weigh this data alongside their own risk tolerance, time horizon, and other market signals rather than acting on this trend alone.
