- Terrariums V1 launches June 17 with Homeland closing permanently at 3 PM Philippine Time.
- Players earn bAXS hourly from land plots with Lunium fuel starting at $0.99.
- AXS down 3.26%, tracking Bitcoin’s decline with no coin-specific negative catalyst.
Axie Infinity has confirmed June 17 as the launch date for Terrariums V1, a passive gamified staking system replacing the now-shutting Homeland feature. Players with unclaimed Homeland rewards have until June 17 at 3 PM Philippine Time to collect them. After that, Homeland closes permanently and becomes inaccessible.
How Terrariums Work
Players activate their land plot, assign their Axies to it, and earn bAXS every hour automatically. The system runs on a resource called Lunium, which fuels the land and keeps rewards flowing.
Two types of Lunium exist:
- Local Lunium: Free and regenerates automatically for every plot
- Global Lunium: Purchased and works across all plots under one account, starting at $0.99 for 25,000 units, purchasable with bAXS, AXS, USDC, or WETH
If a plot runs out of Lunium, the Axies automatically switch from earning bAXS to earning AXP, meaning something is always happening on every plot, regardless of active management.
The design creates continuous demand for Lunium purchases while keeping casual players engaged through automatic fallback rewards.
Where AXS Trades Now
AXS is currently trading at $0.916, down 3.26% on the day, closely tracking Bitcoin’s broader decline driven by persistent ETF outflows and institutional selling pressure. No coin-specific negative catalyst is driving the dip. The token is moving with the market rather than against its own fundamentals.
Technical levels to watch:
- $0.80: Key support zone, a break below signals further downside
- $1.40: First important resistance, a daily close above signals strength
- $2.30: Upper resistance zone for a stronger recovery scenario
Why It Matters
Terrariums V1 is the most significant expansion of Axie Infinity’s in-game economy in years. By creating hourly token emissions tied to land ownership and Lunium consumption, the system builds new token sinks that could reduce selling pressure on AXS over time.
The June 17 launch arrives at a moment of broader market weakness. Whether the update provides a specific catalyst to push AXS against the market trend depends on player uptake and retention numbers in the days following launch.
