Web3 Exam has three gamified levels of varying difficulty, featuring short and engaging rounds based on the Octalysis framework for gamification & behavioral designs.
The Web3 Exam is all about passive learning. In other words, gaining knowledge without realizing that you are actually expanding your expertise.
By completing these rounds, participants earn in-game tokens called Bits, which are then converted to the overall Exam points. Those who score at least 10 points in the Exam get a chance to mint a free NFT Certificate, which acts as proof of their Web3 knowledge. Accumulating more Bits boosts a student’s Degree, enhancing their chances of securing prizes from the pool valued at over $500K.
A similar mechanism is used for BitDegree Missions, also known as extra learning paths. Missions have different prize pools with no NFT Certificates provided yet.
In addition to all that, both the Exam and Missions employ other gamification elements, as well. One of those is Streaks, which motivates students to come back, giving them a chance to win extra Bits. During the Exam, learners can earn bonuses and special badges. Ultimately, all these mechanisms help to deliver an engaging and rewarding learning experience.

We want to motivate Exam participants with both extrinsic and intrinsic rewards. While rewards that have tangible value always bring motivation, it’s also very important to provide students with an exciting learning experience and actually teach them something useful.
In the future, BitDegree plans to elevate this experience further by introducing other features such as leaderboards, fostering a competitive spirit among participants.
