Coinbase VIP Access has attracted hundreds of applicants from around the world. VIP Access was launched last week by Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong as a hiring scheme. The program aims to attract experienced crypto enthusiasts from various sectors including business, sports, military, social media, etc.

According to CEO Brian Armstrong, 283 people have applied to be a part of Coinbase through the VIP Access scheme. The scheme was unveiled on July 19 by Armstrong in a bid to attract people with extraordinary abilities who wouldn’t otherwise find an appropriate open role at the crypto exchange.

“We are not limited by the roles that we have available – if we don’t have a position that is an immediate fit, we can work together to find a match for you,” Coinbase stated in the VIP Access blog post.

Brian Armstrong encouraged people who are passionate about crypto and economic freedom and have achieved excellence in their field to apply for Coinbase VIP Access. Suitable candidates would have an opportunity to work with the largest crypto exchange in the United States.

Coinbase’s preference for VIP Access included entrepreneurs who founded and sold companies, winners of chess tournaments, coding or video game competitions, Olympic athletes, influencers with a large audience on social media, leaders of crypto-related projects (DeFi, NFT, Protocols), elite armed forces veterans, O-1 Visa holders, innovators in aerospace, electrical engineering, and biotech, etc.

Of the 283 applications that have been received so far, 65 came from individuals who led crypto-related projects, 56 from entrepreneurs who founded and sold companies, 43 influencers with significant following on social media, 7 O-1 Visa holders, 22 individuals with experience in elite armed forces, and 6 Olympic athletes among several others.

The bulk of the applicants hailed from North America, 221 to be precise. India and the Asia Pacific region accounted for 23 applications, while 41 candidates were from Europe and Latin America.
