Crypto Gaming Tokens: The Next Big Thing in Cryptocurrency?
  • Crypto influencer Lady of Crypto says the Play-To-Earn model of crypto gaming is dead.
  • The Play-and-Earn model, instead, is now on the rise with more crypto gamers adopting it.
  • “When that [adoption of Play-and-Earn] happens crypto gaming will have its own bull run,” she says.

Crypto trader and investor Lady of Crypto declares that Play-to-Earn (P2E) is dead in crypto gaming and Play-and-Earn is what’s on the rise instead.

In a recent tweet, Lady of Crypto says, “#PlayToEarn is dead.” The play-to-Earn (P2E) model of crypto games was meant to incentivize players by allowing them to accumulate items of real-world value while interacting with a game.

The rewards for the gamers’ time included staking, trading NFT items, or farming the game’s cryptocurrency that has verifiable ownerships, which can then be traded, sold, or purchased. Plant Vs. Undead, Gods Unchained, Battle Infinity, and Town Stars are such games where the primary goal of players is to earn cryptocurrency rather than enjoy the game itself.

Instead, crypto gaming is now “embracing a Play-and-Earn ethos,” says Lady of Crypto. In this gaming model, gamers will progress to higher ranks and focus more on the gameplay while they play, and earn crypto coins and NFTs as a result. Games like Axie Infinity, The Sandbox, Star Atlas, and Thetan Arena are some such games, which ensure the quality of the gaming experience.

These are games that Lady of Crypto describes as “games people actually want to play, where the earning part is just a bonus.” Lady of Crypto states:

“When that [adoption of Play-and-Earn] happens crypto gaming will have its own bull run and it’s going to be wild.”

The tweet is receiving praise from the crypto community of Twitter, denoting that crypto gamers today are looking for games that are meant to have earning potential only as a byproduct of the experience.
