Injective has taken yet another step in its tokenization efforts with the SEC registration of its affiliate Injective Institutional Services as a transfer agent. The move is meant to provide the blockchain with a levelled playing field when it comes to maintaining ownership records of tokenized securities. It also strengthens Injective’s efforts to connect markets with blockchain infrastructure.
Role in Tokenized Markets
Transfer agents manage security ownership records, ownership transfers, distributions, and corporate actions. Consequently, Injective can now support these functions within a regulated framework while using blockchain technology for transparency.
Additionally, the registration could help Injective attract institutions seeking compliant tools for issuing and managing digital securities. The company has explored market structures through pre-IPO perpetual futures tied to private companies.
Tokenization Push Gains Momentum
Moreover, Injective is entering a market where firms examine blockchain-based issuance and settlement. Its approach targets infrastructure behind tokenized assets, rather than focusing on trading.
Meanwhile, INJ has gained 10.50% over 24 hours to $4.49, despite falling 2.71% during seven days. Its market capitalization stands near $448.6 million, while trading volume reached $66.8 million. Significantly, regulated infrastructure could further support Injective’s institutional ambitions.
