Tether has unfrozen about 1.45 million USDT held across four THORChain vaults on Tron, allowing the network to resume transactions after a roughly three-hour disruption.
THORChain technical co-founder Chad Barraford confirmed the reversal on X, saying the addresses had been unfrozen and trading would resume soon. Blockchain records showed that Tether had removed the restrictions, restoring the vaults’ ability to transfer USDT.
THORChain Restores Tron Trading
Tron records show Tether removed all four addresses from its blacklist between 15:30:33 and 15:30:39 UTC. Their combined balances remained unchanged.

THORChain’s network status page also showed that Tron trading, liquidity-provider operations and transaction signing had returned to normal. The protocol had paused these functions because the affected vaults could receive USDT but could not send it.
Barraford said THORChain had received no prior explanation for the restrictions. “We hope that this was made in error / misunderstanding,” he wrote.
Tether’s Wider Blacklist Remains
Tether has not explained why it blacklisted the addresses or reversed the decision. The broader action affected 35 Tron addresses holding about 10.9 million USDT.
Five other addresses checked after THORChain’s four vaults were unfrozen remained blacklisted, indicating that restrictions continued beyond the protocol’s wallets.
