DeFiChain, the native decentralized finance for Bitcoin announced that its community has voted to sponsor the National Fighting Championship (NFC) this year. The NFC which is the German version of the widely known Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC), in charge of the mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting league in Germany, is scheduled to host six live events in 2023.
Expressing his views on their partnership with DeFiChain, the Managing Director of the NFC organizer Fighting GmbH, Michael Ortlepp, stated:
It is a great joy and privilege for us to announce our partnership with DeFiChain. NFC as well as DeFiChain follow the same values and goals and are made for a great partnership that will have a lasting effect on the German MMA scene.
As such, DeFiChain will sponsor 5 of the 6 matches this year. The sponsorship will cover the upcoming fights: NFC 13 Westfalenhallen Dortmund, to be held on March 25, 2023; and NFC 14 Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf which will be held on 27 May 2023.
Additionally, fights scheduled for the latter part of the year include: NFC 15 Telekom Dome Bonn, to be held on 16 September 2023; NFC 16 Showpalast Munich scheduled for 11 November 2023; and NFC 17 Maritim Hotel Düsseldor to be held on 16 December 2023.
Additionally, DeFiChain will also sponsor a “Fighter Of The Night Bonus” for the best fight of the evening. The fighters will be paid directly in DFI to their Wallet which they could use to spend, invest in dStocks, or liquidity mining on DeFiChain to earn more rewards.
Shedding more light into what prompted them to sponsor the “Fighter Of The Night Bonus”, Project Lead NFC Sponsoring at DeFiChain, Benedikt Keck, stated:

Not limiting itself to just rewarding the fighters, DeFiChain has taken the extra mile to reward a fan. Hence, there will also be a “Fan of the Night Bonus,” where one fan will be randomly selected and awarded 1,000 DFI during the live event, provided that they have the DeFiChain Wallet installed.
