Hyperliquid Strategies Added to to Russell 3000 and 2000 Indexes
On June 30, 2026, according to a press release, Hyperliquid Strategies Inc (NASDAQ:PURR) announced that its common stock has been added to the Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 Indexes, effective at the open of U.S. trading.
Meanwhile, this inclusion is part of Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) Russell’s 2026 annual reconstitution. Hyperliquid’s stock was also added to the S&P Global Broad Market Index (BMI), effective from June 22, 2026.
Russell Index membership is determined through its annual rules-based reconstitution. Eligibility requires companies to have a minimum total market capitalization of more than $30M, and a free float of at least 5%. It also requires adequate liquidity based on an average daily dollar trading value that is higher than the global median.
Notably, Hyperliquid Strategies achieved these thresholds after experiencing rapid growth in its market capitalization of its products to $1.18B, with shares trading at $8.49, up 182% over the last six months. Transitioning to a pure HYPE token treasury strategy in December 2025 has also driven increased trading volume and a broader base of investors.
Furthermore, in its fiscal third-quarter 2026 earnings, the company reported a net income of $152.5M, mainly driven by the appreciation of its HYPE token holdings. Hyperliquid Strategies also experienced strong revenue growth from staking activities to about $2.6M, up 420% quarter-over-quarter.
What’s Next for $PURR?
The crypto market environment, the performance of HYPE tokens, and the disciplined application of Hyperliquid Strategies’ treasury framework will determine PURR’s outlook. While the digital asset exposure adds volatility, the company’s clean balance sheet and active capital management may help boost investor confidence, as crypto treasury stocks continue to be a popular choice for institutional investors.
Regulatory developments could also shape PURR’s trajectory. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is expected to introduce a framework for trading tokenized stocks, potentially creating new opportunities for companies like Hyperliquid Strategies. Meanwhile, analyst Cantor Fitzgerald has maintained his forecast of an overweight rating on the stock by raising Hyperliquid Strategies price target from $6.00 to $8.00.
In the longer term, the growth of PURR is directly correlated with the growth of the Hyperliquid ecosystem. Key drivers include permissionless perpetuals on HIP-3, expansion across assets, higher protocol fees that feed into HYPE buybacks and burns, and growing acceptance of the HYPE token and Layer-1 blockchain by the institutional sector, thus bolstering the company’s long-term treasury strategy.
