Mark Zuckerberg presented the new Meta Quest Pro mixed reality headset at the Meta Connect event on Tuesday, 11th October.

To enhance the potential of mixed and virtual reality, the company has introduced a new range of cutting-edge headgear, the first of which is the Meta Quest Pro. The headset’s pancake lenses compress light many times, resulting in smaller overall dimensions and crisper sights.

Overall, the Meta Quest Pro headset is more ergonomic and balanced thanks to a new, curved battery on the back. The high-end headset costs $1,499.99 USD and will start arriving on October 25. You can also pre-order a Meta Quest Pro from their official website.

The first full-colour mixed reality device, Meta Quest Pro, has 4 times as many pixels as Meta Quest 2 because of the high-resolution outward-facing cameras.

Additionally, it’s the first headset with integrated inward-facing sensors to record genuine facial emotions and eye tracking.

The team says: Users’ avatar will mimic their actions whether they raise an eyebrow, smile, or just make eye contact with someone. All of this enhances social presence, which is the sensation that no matter where users are in the world, they are right there with someone.

Meta also announced a multi-year partnership with NBC Universal to bring renowned comedic and terrifying content to life through experiences in the metaverse, according to the Meta Quest blog.

With Meta Quest Pro, Zuckerberg is excited to bring this new future into existence. This is the beginning of a new era for mixed reality, and Zuckerberg is committed to making it accessible to everyone.
