The whale tracking and analytics platform Whale Alerts took to Twitter earlier this morning to share an observation about recent whale activity that traders should note. According to the post, 8,000,000 Polygon (MATIC), worth about $8,482,976, was transferred from an unknown wallet to Binance.

Whale Alert also shared some transaction details. According to the information provided, the transaction took place on the Ethereum blockchain just under two hours ago. The fee for the transaction was 0.000818031067726656 ETH, with about $1.25.

The crypto market tracking website CoinMarketCap indicates that MATIC is currently trading hands at $1.04 after a 6.88% drop in price over the last 24 hours. The altcoin reached a high of $1.13 and a low of $1.04 over the same time period. MATIC also weakened against Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) by 5.31% and 5.44% respectively.

MATIC’s lackluster performance over the last day has also had a negative effect on the crypto’s weekly performance as MATIC is in the red by more than 14% over the last seven days. The altcoin’s 24-hour trading volume is in the green zone and now stands at $578,772,974 after a 12.30% increase since yesterday.

With its market cap of $9,122,772,246, MATIC is currently ranked as the 9th biggest crypto in terms of market capitalization. This places it right behind Dogecoin (DOGE) in the 8th position and in front of Binance USD (BUSD) which is ranked 10th on the list of the biggest cryptos.
