  • NEAR targets $5.30 resistance after rebounding strongly from the key $4.60 region.
  • Open interest hits $1.60B as leveraged traders increase exposure to NEAR’s rally.
  • Quantus integration could expand NEAR’s ecosystem with private, quantum-safe payments.

NEAR Protocol gained fresh momentum as buyers pushed the token higher alongside rising derivatives activity and new ecosystem developments. NEAR trades near $5.25 after gaining 4.12% over the past 24 hours. Moreover, the token has climbed 12.82% over seven days as buyers regain control.

NEAR Buyers Push Toward $5.30 Resistance

NEAR has developed a bullish recovery after rebounding strongly from the $4.60 region. Significantly, price now trades above its four major exponential moving averages.

The 20-period EMA sits near $5.02, while the 50-period EMA remains around $4.91. Additionally, NEAR remains comfortably above its longer-term 100-period and 200-period averages.

The immediate challenge sits near the $5.30 Fibonacci resistance level. A sustained breakout could open the path toward the recent $5.40 to $5.50 region.

Beyond that range, buyers could challenge the stronger resistance around $5.60. However, NEAR must first establish support above $5.30 to strengthen that bullish scenario.

Bollinger Band %B currently stands near 0.87. Hence, NEAR trades close to the upper portion of its recent volatility range.

That reading supports bullish momentum without confirming an extreme upside extension. However, it also raises the possibility of consolidation around current resistance.

Open Interest Surges as Traders Increase Exposure

Derivatives activity has expanded considerably during NEAR’s latest advance. Open interest reached approximately $1.60 billion on October 6.

Earlier this year, open interest spent considerable time below $300 million. Consequently, the latest increase represents a major expansion in leveraged market participation.

Rising prices alongside expanding open interest often signal new positions entering the market. Hence, traders appear increasingly willing to position around NEAR’s current recovery.

However, heavy leverage can amplify movements in both directions. A sudden reversal could therefore trigger stronger liquidation-driven volatility.

Spot flows provide a more mixed picture. Exchange activity experienced substantial swings throughout recent months, including several periods of heavy outflows.

Early October produced another large withdrawal spike before activity cooled. By October 6, netflow had returned slightly positive at approximately $106,000.

Quantus Integration Expands NEAR’s Ecosystem Story

Besides improving market conditions, NEAR has gained another ecosystem development through its upcoming Quantus integration. Quantus focuses on private digital payments and post-quantum security.

The proof-of-work network uses post-quantum signatures designed to address future threats from increasingly powerful quantum computers. Additionally, QTC serves as its single native asset.

Quantus does not support smart contracts, keeping the network focused primarily on private digital cash. Consequently, connecting with NEAR could provide access to a broader blockchain ecosystem.

The Quantus team says integration work and additional technical reviews remain underway. It also expects liquidity to begin moving from Quantus into NEAR shortly.

However, the team has not provided an exact launch date. That distinction remains important as traders assess the potential impact.

Technical Outlook For NEAR Protocol

Key levels remain well-defined for NEAR Protocol following its strong four-hour recovery:

Upside levels: $5.30 is the immediate resistance. A decisive four-hour breakout could extend NEAR’s recovery toward $5.40-$5.50, followed by $5.58-$5.60.

Downside levels: $5.07-$5.02 provides the first short-term support. Below that, $4.90-$4.92 becomes important, while a deeper correction could expose $4.76.

Trend support: The $4.56-$4.57 region remains the stronger structural support zone. Holding above this area could preserve NEAR’s broader bullish structure.

The technical picture shows NEAR extending its recovery after rebounding from $4.60-$4.65. Price remains above all four major EMAs. However, Bollinger Band %B near 0.87 shows NEAR trading toward the upper end of its recent range.

Will NEAR Protocol Go Up?

NEAR Protocol price prediction now hinges on whether buyers can defend $5.02-$5.07 while challenging the $5.30 resistance level. A confirmed breakout above that barrier could strengthen the recovery and expose $5.40-$5.50.

Moreover, open interest has surged to approximately $1.60 billion, signaling a sharp increase in derivatives activity. NEAR also recorded slightly positive net spot flow near $106,000 on October 6. This follows considerably larger exchange-flow swings during recent sessions.

However, rejection around $5.30 could trigger another test of the $5.02-$5.07 support area. Losing that zone would bring $4.90-$4.92 into focus. A deeper decline toward $4.56-$4.57 would weaken the broader bullish structure.

For now, NEAR remains at a pivotal technical area. Consequently, holding short-term support and securing a four-hour close above $5.30 could determine the next major move.
