“Optimus to the Moon” with the Launch of Satellite Imagery NFT
  • Optimus Vision Fund acquires Mission Helios with the aim of launching a satellite image NFTs collection.
  • “Optimus to the moon, both figuratively and literally,” states the company.
  • Optimus purchases the copyright to the captured satellite image.

Optimus Vision Fund acquired Mission Helios, for an undisclosed sum with the aim of launching a satellite imagery NFT collection. Mission Helios, the first-ever decentralized space community to launch an imagery nano-satellite to orbit and mint Earth’s images as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, will rely on the pre-existing contract with Sidus Space, for this mission.

Sidus Space, a Space and Defense-as-a-Service company focused on manufacturing commercial satellite design and hardware, will launch an Imager attached to a satellite into space onboard a Space-X Transporter 9 Rocket. Moreover, the launch is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2023, with the collaboration of SpaceX, an American spacecraft manufacturer, and launcher.

With regard to this herculean feat, Optimus stated:

[We are] cementing our position at the forefront of our industry and taking Optimus to the moon, both figuratively and literally.

Roaming LEO (Low Earth Orbit) for 3–5 years, the Satellite Imager will capture 16 sunsets and 16 sunrises every day, meaning the satellite travels the globe every 90 minutes. Furthermore, the pre-programmable settings in the software allow only images of land and avoid cloudy areas using artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile, Optimus Token LLC, an arm of Optimus Vision Fund has purchased the copyright to the images acquired from the camera onboard the satellite, which will be used to generate first-of-its-kind NFTs from space through the community-named imager.

Concurrently, the purchase of Mission Helios by Optimus Vision Fund will make Helios’ token null and void, stated the company. As such, the company declared that all the current holders of Helios tokens have been identified and that they could send their tokens in for an equivalent value of $OPTIMUS airdrop and join the Optimus community.
