Customers in the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Austria can now buy crypto on Paybis through a banking app or a payment reference, with no card details needed. The four methods are the first wave of 13 local payment methods Paybis is adding.
Riga, Latvia October 23, 2026 — Paybis, a global crypto exchange and payment infrastructure provider, today added four local payment methods for buying crypto in Europe. Customers can now pay with iDEAL in the Netherlands, BLIK in Poland, Multibanco in Portugal and EPS in Austria. Cards and bank transfers remain available, but they are no longer the only options.
- Four new local payment methods live today: iDEAL, BLIK, Multibanco and EPS.
- No card details needed: customers confirm payment in their banking app or pay a Multibanco reference.
- More than 90 cryptocurrencies are available, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and USDC.
- First wave of 13 local payment methods; Paybis will support more than 30 ways to pay once all are live.
Local payment methods at national scale
The four methods operate at scale in their home markets. BLIK had 21.6 million active users in Poland at the end of June 2026, according to its operator, Polish Payment Standard. iDEAL processed more than 1.5 billion transactions in 2025 and handled 71% of online purchases in the Netherlands, according to the Dutch Payments Association. The Multibanco network has around 13,000 machines across Portugal, according to SIBS. EPS is offered by more than 11,000 online shops in Austria.
Four methods, four markets
- iDEAL Netherlands
Bank selection and confirmation in a banking app
Limit per payment: EUR 50,000
- BLIK Poland
Six-digit code from a banking app
Limit per payment: PLN 50,000
- Multibanco Portugal
Payment reference, paid at an ATM or in a banking app
Limit per payment: EUR 5,000
- EPS Austria
Bank selection and confirmation in online banking

Simple crypto, paid locally
Each method works the way it does for any other online payment in its market. The customer chooses the method at checkout and confirms the payment through their bank, or pays the Multibanco reference. No card details are needed. The crypto goes to the customer’s Paybis Wallet or to any external wallet address. Customers can choose from more than 90 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and USDC.
“Europe does not pay one way. A customer in Amsterdam reaches for iDEAL, a customer in Warsaw reaches for BLIK, and neither should need a card to buy crypto,” said Innokenty Isers, CEO and Founder of Paybis. “Now customers in the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Austria can pay the way they already pay for everything else online. Our philosophy is making crypto easy, and adding local payment methods market by market is how we do that.”
What comes next
iDEAL, BLIK, Multibanco and EPS are the first of 13 local payment methods Paybis is adding. Bancontact, KBC/CBC Bank and Belfius Pay in Belgium and Bancomat Pay in Italy follow in the next wave. Swish, Przelewy24, Vipps and MobilePay come after that. Once all are live, Paybis will support more than 30 ways to pay.
