Rehabilitation Center Now Offers Crypto Addiction Treatments
  • Crypto addiction has been on the rise for the past 2 years.
  • Center for Gambling Studies Director Lia Nower says, “Excessive crypto trading could lead to gambling disorders.”
  • Rehab centers are charging exorbitant prices for therapy plans akin to gambling therapy.

Rehabilitation centers are offering ‘crypto addiction therapy’ using steps used for gambling addiction. These luxury clinics are offering therapy at exorbitant prices throughout the past two years.

A BBC report mentions that they contacted three rehab centers and two addiction clinics which have received hundreds of related queries in the past two years.

Even though crypto has been around for 14 years, the pandemic and the volatility of the crypto market brings along with it the trading thrills and dopamine-rush. This had led rehabilitation centers to add an asterisk against their list of gambling disorders for crypto addiction.

Lia Nower, Director of the Center for Gambling Studies at Rutgers University, states:

Excessive crypto trading and high-risk stock trading could be forms of gambling and lead to gambling disorder.

The rehabilitation therapy, questionably, ranges from luxe of $90,000 a week to humble, inexpensive tele-therapies.

At the luxury Paracelsus Recovery Clinic, which offers a view across Lake Zurich  to the snow-peaked Alps beyond, therapy comes in royal-velvety fashion. Amenities include butlers, personal chefs, chauffeured limousines, and more — all for $90,000 a week.

The Balance, a luxury rehabilitation center in Majorca, Spain, help clients wean off crypto addiction with a four-week stay in a private villa. The clients are attended to by their own butler, chef, and therapy that is inclusive of massages, yoga, and bike rides for more than $75,000.
