In a recent announcement on X (formerly Twitter), San FranTokyo, a decentralized city, unveiled a strategic partnership with leading global Web3 company Animoca Brands Japan and an investment in Cool Cats, a Web3 company and a global character brand.

Cool Cats, known for its iconic characters such as Blue, Chugs, Ardi, and Jo, is poised to explore new horizons in the heart of Japanese culture. The partnership will see the creation of a unique Cool Cats manga one-shot, or “yomikiri,” crafted by a Japanese manga artist.

In addition to the creative manga project, San FranTokyo and Animoca Brands Japan have acquired a substantial collection of Cool Cats characters, including 37 Cool Cats, 15 Shadow Wolves, and 15 SideKXs. San FranTokyou claimed that these additions ensure that any future storytelling stays true to the original source material.

According to San FranTokyo, the partners have ambitious plans to expand the Cool Cats brand in Japan through various channels. They intend to build new relationships with prominent organizations in the entertainment and IP industries.

The brand expansion will encompass traditional merchandise, licensing opportunities, and collaborations with officially licensed IPs. In addition, the development of Vtuber content, which is online content created by a virtual avatar, incorporating Cool Cats IP is on the horizon.

One of the other aspects of this partnership is the integration of Cool Cats into the fabric of San FranTokyo. Plans included interactive e-figurine drops and an alignment of marketing efforts with iconic Japanese IPs. These initiatives aim to weave the Cool Cats IP narrative into the city of San FranTokyo.
