Paolo Ardoino, CTO at Tether, has clarified speculations over his previous post about Tether’s energy venture. In a post on X (Twitter), Ardoino provided details on what Tether is doing to promote the use of green energy in the cryptocurrency industry.

According to Ardoino, recent activities by Tether are a follow-up to an earlier announcement by the stablecoin provider saying it had started Tether Energy (TE). Ardoino explained that TE is growing partnerships around the world with local companies, providing capital, infrastructure support, development, and general expertise to build renewable energy production and bitcoin mining sites.

The Tether CTO shared photos of one such developing mining site in a previous post, raising speculation among crypto community members. Several crypto users shared their thoughts about the ongoing construction. The opinions shared covered the functionality of the project and its aesthetic features.

Ardoino further explained that TE’s partner selection is based on organizations with solid local connections, outstanding and passionate personnel, and demonstrates a deep respect for the environment. According to him, partnering with such organizations will promote Tether’s belief that Bitcoin mining has to be as geographically decentralized as possible to reduce the current heavy concentration in specific countries.

Ardoino also reaffirmed the authenticity of his previous post to those who had doubts if it was a real image or a manipulated Photoshop. According to Ardoino, that photo shows one of the control rooms in one of the sites currently being finalized and will soon start operations.

The Tether CTO also noted that the picture he shared is for a Bitcoin mining site located in the Latin American region. According to Ardoino, his company tends to not share exact locations to avoid personnel harassment, a valid concern given the number of detractors obsessed with Tether.
