- Twitter has integrated support for price charts for well-known assets and equities.
- The new feature will let users view their Robinhood wallets and trade cryptos.
- Twitter Business revealed $Cashtags featuring index support.
Twitter has implemented price chart support for prominent assets and stocks, including cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Users surmise that Twitter could provide additional features in the future.
Twitter Business revealed the $Cashtags feature with index support on December, 22. The release noted that when a primary stock or crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) has a dollar symbol in front, pricing charts will be shown alongside the search results.
Users can click on or search for crypto assets to utilize the new feature. Clicking the “View on Robinhood” link will direct users to the wallet provider. With Robinhood, users can link their wallets and trade crypto. No official partnership statement has been made.
Elon Musk tweeted soon after the announcement to commend the team. However, users were left wondering why the ‘DogeFather’ omitted Dogecoin from the new feature.
US investor, Jason Calacanis, commended the $Cashtags launch. He said, “15 more features can be added to $Cashtags! Keep going!!”
Since Musk acquired Twitter, Dogecoin holders have been waiting for an official announcement on payments integration. However, with Musk stepping down as Chief of Twitter, Dogecoin has seen negative movement in the market.
In September, Musk was accused of supporting DOGE through a pyramid scheme. The resulting $258 billion lawsuit filed against him will decide if there is any merit to this claim.
Despite Musk assuring investors that he intends to “keep supporting Dogecoin,” it’s conceivable that Musk is waiting to resolve the lawsuit before acting on this statement. Moreover, the SEC’s growing control over crypto influencers should be noted.
The industry also expects Musk to improve Memecoin as it grows. This could explain why he has yet to announce any noteworthy payment tool with Dogecoin compatibility.
