In a virtual conversation hosted by the reState Foundation, Sadhguru remarked that the human mechanism remains the highest level of technology yet. Buterin explained that blockchain and cryptocurrency involve people more than other forms of technology.
According to Sadhguru, most people do not understand the technological concept behind the human mechanism because they have not paid attention to the composition of humankind. He noted that his role in the ecosystem is to help people understand how the human mechanism functions. He emphasized that understanding how humans function would allow people to choose how they want to be.
Buterin explained blockchains are about human coordination and involve helping different groups come together and trust each other more. According to Buterin, technology enables people to collaborate across long distances on various projects.
Moreover, Buterin noted the kind of human interactions blockchain promotes enables the understanding of social technology as it involves cultural overlaps across different parts of the world. He thinks it fosters a level of consciousness that isn’t far from the fundamental elements of human evolution.
Sadhguru acknowledged the topic of consciousness to be a recurring decimal across several fields of human endeavor. He sees that as “a new coin of transaction in many ways.” However, the mystic indicated that consciousness could neither be a transaction nor a communication. He believes most people misunderstand the different dimensions of intelligence.
According to Sadhguru, human identity forms the basis of all intelligence and influences the intellect, a different aspect of intelligence used for survival. He explained people’s definition determines how they use their intellect, noting this to be the reason behind the focus on personal identity in Yoga practice.
Buterin agreed with Sadhguru’s idea of identity, acknowledging it is a concept that overlaps between both worlds. He explained that identity is so fundamental in the blockchain industry that people see themselves as part of the various groups they are part of. He thinks it is a concept that could extend beyond the technological space and even lead to a much more peaceful world.
