Yuga Labs, the creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club, recently announced the acquisition of Kevin Rose’s NFT startup PROOF, which is well known for its NFT collections, including Moonbirds, Oddities, Mythics, and Grails. The platform shared an X post, drawing its community’s attention to the astounding ecosystem development.

The Web3 company’s strategic move of acquiring PROOF’s assets, team, intellectual property, and artistic portfolio is part of the platform’s extensive vision of leading the Web3 space. Yuga Labs intends to collaborate its gamified metaverse play, Otherside, with PROOF’s Moonbirds. Reflecting on the matter, Yuga Labs CEO Daniel Alegre commented,

As a company committed to championing art, culture, and community on the blockchain, we’re excited to have PROOF join the Yuga ecosystem. Moonbirds is a collection with great potential and many unifying brand elements with Otherside. We look forward to PROOF Collective becoming an important part of our ongoing art and community engagement efforts.

The PROOF team has also reportedly shared their excitement in the collaboration. Acknowledging Yuga Labs’ commitment to digital fine art, PROOF’s CEO and Founder, Kevin Rose, stated that the move would benefit them with innovation and fast global reach. He added, “It’s going to be an exciting journey.”

PROOF shared an official message on their X page, stating, “We are excited to join forces with a company that champions art, culture, and community on the blockchain.”

As per the press release, following the completion of a proper handover, Kevin Rose will join the new platform as an advisor. Other members of PROOF, like Josh Ong, Jesse Bryan, and Amanda Gadbow, would be in charge of scrutinizing the transition of PROOF’s elements into Yuga Labs.
