On-chain investigator ZachXBT has exposed a threat actor, Dritan Kapllani Jr., linked to the theft of $19 million through social-engineering attacks targeting crypto holders. In his latest thread on X, the investigator highlighted some of Dritan’s online activities, including the flaunting of luxury items and wallets containing stolen funds.

ZachXBT shared multiple videos of Dritan flexing luxury cars, expensive wrist watches, private jets, and clubs across different social media platforms. One of the standout videos has the alleged crypto thief boasting with his Exodus wallet containing $3.68 million during a “Band 4 Band (B4B)” on a Discord call on April 23, 2026, while trying to prove he had more money than another threat actor.

Meanwhile, ZachXBT shared evidence of crypto thefts linked to Dritan, including an incident involving 185 BTC, equivalent to $13 million, which occurred on March 14, 2026. According to the investigator, Dritan’s wallet received $5.2 million from that theft on March 15, before spending or laundering $1.6 million of the funds six weeks later.

The Investigator’s Achievements So Far

According to ZachXBT, other cybercriminals involved in the identified 185 BTC theft are currently facing charges, including Trenton Johnson, against whom a criminal complaint was unsealed on May 11, and is facing up to 40 years in jail. In the meantime, ZachXBT noted that Dritan is Johnson’s co-conspirator 1 (CC-1), even though he hasn’t been formally charged yet.

ZachXBT also noted that Yelo, a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) in the crypto space, was also charged for helping the crypto thieves launder funds through his Miami rental car business. If found guilty, the KOL could be sentenced to 30 years in prison.

It is worth noting that ZachXBT noted that it was Dritan’s previous B4B with John Daghita that attracted him to investigate the latter in January of a $46 million theft from the US government, leading to his arrest. He shared evidence of how he traced the funds, including links to Dritan’s address, revealing that it is possible to connect the dots and trace cryptocurrency transactions—an effective way to fight cybercrimes involving cryptocurrencies.
