  • Shorts lost $12.16M of the $14.54M liquidated over 24 hours as open interest rose 21.21%

Zcash price prediction for this week stays bullish above $1,236, the level ZEC needs to hold after breaking above the downtrend line that capped it through October.

Zcash Price Analysis: Can ZEC Hold Its Breakout Above $1,236?

ZEC is holding its breakout for now, trading at $1,262.14, up 11% over the past 24 hours, after rising through the falling trendline from the late-September high and above the 20-day EMA at $1,236.18. The 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs at $1,187.28, $1,012.14 and $791.01 all sit beneath price, so the trend structure still favors buyers.

RSI at 51.45 has climbed back above both the neutral 50 mark and its average of 44.74 after spending most of October below 50, which shows momentum turning up. The nearest test is today’s high of $1,293.97, and the support zone near $1,050 is the floor if the breakout fails.

ZEC looks more likely to test $1,400 than to lose $1,236 this week, and a daily close below $1,187 would put the $1,050 zone in play.

Zcash Jumps 11% as Developers Set the NU7 Activation Height

ZEC led the major cryptocurrencies, rising 11% to about $1,260 after Zcash developers set the mainnet activation height for NU7, CoinDesk reported.

The activation height is the block number at which every node switches to the new rules. NU7 has run on Zcash’s test network since early October, and Bitcoin rose 1.3% to just above $82,700 over the same stretch.

The upgrade changes two things:

  • Block times: They fall from 75 seconds to 25, so payments confirm three times faster.
  • Fee reserve: 60% of transaction fees go into a reserve that pays out over time.

Cameron Winklevoss Calls Zcash the AI Hedge in Crypto

Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss said Zcash could trade “easily above $5,000 a coin” in an interview with Maxine Desalle published Tuesday.

His reasoning is that financial privacy gets weaker as AI gets better, which makes private money more valuable.

  • Valuation: He put Zcash’s market value at about $25 billion, roughly 2% of Bitcoin’s, and said privacy is worth more than that. At 10% of Bitcoin’s market cap, ZEC would rise fivefold.
  • Cycle: He said Zcash may not follow Bitcoin’s four-year halving cycle and that its price tracks AI developments more closely than Bitcoin’s chart.

Zcash ETF Logs First Inflow After Three Straight Days of Outflows

Grayscale’s ZCSH, the only fund in SoSoValue’s US spot Zcash ETF table, took in $1.61M on October 20. That ended outflows of $14.76M, $1.22M and $10.45M on October 15, 16 and 19. Cumulative net inflows stand at $153.86M, down from $298.00M on September 29.

Zcash Derivatives: Shorts Absorb $12.16M as Open Interest Climbs

ZEC derivatives volume rose 25.86% to $7.12 billion, and open interest, the total value of open contracts, climbed 21.21% to $2.76 billion. Both rising together usually means fresh money is entering rather than traders closing out.

Zcash Price Prediction: Bullish and Bearish Scenarios for This Week

Bullish Case, Target: $1,400

ZEC holds above the 20-day EMA at $1,236 and clears today’s high at $1,294. That would open $1,400, the round level above early-October highs. Another round of short liquidations would fit this path.

Bearish Case, Risk Level: $1,187 (50-Day EMA)

ZEC loses the 20-day EMA at $1,236 and slips toward the 50-day at $1,187. A close below that level would put the $1,050 support zone in play, with the 100-day EMA at $1,012 beneath it.

FAQs

What is the Zcash price prediction for this week?

ZEC could extend toward $1,294 and then $1,400 if it holds above $1,236. Losing that level risks a pullback toward the 50-day EMA at $1,187.

What is the Zcash NU7 upgrade?

NU7 is Zcash’s next network upgrade. According to CoinDesk, it cuts block times from 75 seconds to 25, so payments confirm three times faster, and sends 60% of transaction fees into a reserve that pays out over time. Developers have set the mainnet activation height, and the upgrade has run on the test network since early October.

Could Zcash reach $5,000?

Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss said in an interview with Maxine Desalle that ZEC could trade above $5,000, arguing that privacy demand will grow as AI improves. That is his view rather than a forecast, and $5,000 would be about four times today’s $1,262.14.

Are Zcash ETFs seeing inflows or outflows?

Grayscale’s ZCSH took in $1.61M on October 20 after three straight sessions of outflows totaling $26.43M, according to SoSoValue. Cumulative net inflows stand at $153.86M.
