Cryptography Researchers Sound Quantum and AI Alarm
Cryptography researcher Justin Drake warned that ECDSA, the signature scheme securing most crypto wallets, could be cracked by classical algorithms before quantum computing reaches “Q-Day,” potentially within months rather than years, with AI-accelerated mathematics driving the breakthrough risk.
He advised large holders to migrate funds to new addresses whose public keys remain hidden behind hashes, and recommended signing from a fresh address after each subsequent transaction.
Vitalik Buterin echoed the concern but warned against rushing migrations, saying that losses from misconfiguration or hasty upgrades are a real risk, and that the ideal multisig practice is rotating keys after every operation while collecting signatures off-chain to minimize exposure.
Europol released two reports flagging crypto wallets as the “main exposure point” for quantum attacks, since exposed public keys could let attackers derive private keys once sufficiently powerful quantum computers exist.
US Government Wallet Activity Accelerates
A US government-linked address transferred a cumulative $670 million in crypto assets to Coinbase Prime over 32 hours, including 6,215.7 BTC worth $520 million, 119 million USDT, and 40,285 BNB worth $31.63 million. The address still holds an estimated $28 billion in crypto assets, primarily Bitcoin.

The New York Fed’s September survey showed US consumers’ one-year inflation expectations rose to 3.9%, the highest in over three years.

Hunter Biden Responds to LAPTOP Token Fallout
Hunter Biden released findings from an independent investigation into his LAPTOP meme coin’s launch collapse, denying that the team cashed out and stating founder tokens remain untouched in their original wallet.
The investigation found a market maker contributed only about $5,200 and under 30,000 tokens to the liquidity pool, representing just 0.003% of total supply, which drove the price from $0.05 to roughly $317 in under two minutes before it collapsed 98% within an hour.
