  • Avalanche price prediction stays bullish above $10.53 after AVAX broke its weekly support band
  • AVAX is up over 54% in September as Ava Labs confirms NYSE tested its technology for a year
  • Analyst Michaël van de Poppe is trimming a position from $6.50, calling AVAX overstretched short-term

Avalanche price prediction for this week stays bullish above $10.53, the level AVAX broke out from after a sharp move confirmed its weekly Bull Market Support Band has flipped from resistance to support.

Avalanche Price Analysis: Can AVAX Hold Its Breakout Above $10.53?

Yes, so far. AVAX trades near $11.211, holding onto most of a sharp two-day move that carried price from around $8 to a high of $11.796. That surge decisively cleared $10.53, the zone that had capped every recovery attempt since June and where the Bollinger Band basis now sits, flipping it from resistance to support.

The daily EMAs back up the strength of the move:

  • 20-day EMA: $8.399
  • 50-day EMA: $7.671
  • 100-day EMA: $7.557
  • 200-day EMA: $8.653

All four sit well below current price in a fully bullish stack. The weekly chart tells the bigger story, AVAX has broken back above its Bull Market Support Band, the zone between the 20-week SMA at $7.586 and 21-week EMA at $8.393, for the first time since the downtrend began after last year’s peak. Weekly RSI has jumped to 61.63 from readings below 40 just weeks earlier, the sharpest momentum shift on this timeframe in over a year. A long-term descending trendline from the late-2024 high still caps price further out, but this week’s move has closed much of that gap.

Avalanche News: NYSE Spent a Year Testing Avalanche Technology, Ava Labs Says

Ava Labs President Charley Cooper said NYSE has spent the past year testing Avalanche technology and working with Ava Labs on how it could integrate with the exchange’s systems, according to The Block. NYSE has not selected a blockchain.

Cooper stopped short of confirming a selection, saying that is for NYSE to announce, but described the relationship as close.

At the same Avalanche Summit in New York, Michael Blaugrund, Head of Strategic Initiatives at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE, NYSE’s parent), said the firm remains “very engaged” in evaluating blockchain platforms and that “Avalanche checks a lot of those boxes.”

What has been reported:

  • NYSE announced in January that it is building a platform for onchain settlement of tokenized US equities and ETFs.
  • tZERO was named a design partner for the platform in August.
  • Ava Labs says NYSE has tested Avalanche technology for a year.

What has not been announced:

  • Which blockchain the NYSE platform will use.
  • Whether Avalanche is the one selected.

Cooper also flagged a regulatory tailwind. The SEC released an innovation exemption this week allowing certain onchain trading of tokenized stocks. It opens the door for smaller exchange venues to compete for liquidity ahead of the larger players.

Avalanche News: Is AVAX’s 54% September Rally Overextended?

AVAX has gained more than 54% this month, a rally trader Michaël van de Poppe links to a multi-week bullish RSI divergence that built up before this week’s sharp push higher. Van de Poppe said he’s been accumulating AVAX since around $6.50 and has started trimming part of his position now, calling the move “a little overstretched” in the near term while still describing the broader chart as “beautiful.”

His read is that the bottom is already in, and he doesn’t expect a retest of AVAX’s recent lows, framing any near-term pullback as a buying opportunity rather than a trend change. That’s one trader’s interpretation, not a confirmed signal, though it does line up with the bullish RSI divergence visible on AVAX’s own weekly chart.

Avalanche Price Prediction: Bullish and Bearish Scenarios for This Week

Bullish Case, Target: $13

AVAX holds above $10.526 and continues building on this week’s breakout above the weekly Bull Market Support Band. Continued attention on the NYSE testing news and momentum from the bullish RSI divergence could support a push toward $13, with the 2024 descending trendline the next real test above that.

Bearish Case, Risk Level: $8.653 (200-Day EMA)

AVAX loses $10.526 and gives back a meaningful share of this week’s spike. A cooling of NYSE-related enthusiasm or a broader pullback after such a sharp move would fit that scenario, exposing the 200-day EMA at $8.653 as the next real support, with the weekly Bull Market Support Band near $7.586 to $8.393 below that.

FAQs

What is the Avalanche price prediction this week?

AVAX could extend toward $13 if it holds above $10.526, the former resistance zone now acting as support. Losing that level risks a slide toward the 200-day EMA at $8.653.

Has NYSE chosen Avalanche for its tokenization platform?

Not confirmed yet. Ava Labs President Charley Cooper said NYSE has spent a year testing Avalanche technology and developed a close working relationship, but he stopped short of saying the exchange has made a final selection.

Why has AVAX rallied over 54% in September?

The move followed a multi-week bullish RSI divergence, according to analyst Michaël van de Poppe, combined with renewed attention on NYSE’s testing of Avalanche technology for tokenized securities.

Is AVAX’s rally sustainable or overextended?

Views differ. Analyst Michaël van de Poppe called the move “overstretched” in the short term and has trimmed part of his position, while still describing the broader chart structure as bullish and unlikely to retest recent lows.
