  • Bitget now lets users transfer 3,000 eligible US stocks and ETFs into tokenized rTokens.
  • Transfers are free and take about 10 business days, allowing users to keep existing investments.
  • Bitget offers $1 million in rSPCX rewards to eligible users who transfer qualifying stock holdings.

Bitget has introduced a new feature that lets users transfer eligible US-listed stocks and ETFs from traditional brokerage accounts to its platform as tokenized assets called rTokens.

The feature, called rToken Stock Transfer, supports over 3,000 assets and allows users to move their existing investments to Bitget in two steps.

Once transferred, the eligible stocks and ETFs are converted into corresponding rTokens and credited to users’ spot accounts. This allows users to access tokenized stocks on Bitget without selling their existing investments first.

How Bitget’s rToken Stock Transfer Works

Users start by requesting a Free of Payment (FOP) transfer from their brokerage account to Bitget’s designated Alpaca account.

Once the shares arrive, Bitget’s In-Kind Tokenization Network (ITN) automatically converts them into rTokens and credits them to the user’s spot account. Transfers into Bitget are free and take around 10 business days. However, fees apply when transferring assets out of the platform.

Users can then use eligible rTokens for spot trading, margin services, borrowing and lending, and yield products, depending on the asset and applicable terms.

The feature supports Bitget’s Universal Exchange (UEX) strategy, which aims to bring traditional investments and cryptocurrency services together on one platform.

Bitget’s rToken Ecosystem Reaches $114 Million

Bitget’s rToken ecosystem continues to grow through Reality, its platform for issuing tokenized real-world assets. According to Bitget, as of July 6, rToken assets under management reached about $114 million, with more than two million transactions completed.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said tokenization aims not only to make traditional assets easier to access, but also to make them more useful. In the future, eligible assets could be used as collateral for other trading activities.

Chen added that Bitget aims to make it easier for users to move and use their assets while improving capital efficiency across its Universal Exchange.

Bitget Offers $1 Million in SpaceX Token Rewards

To celebrate the launch, Bitget is offering eligible users a share of $1 million in rewards through its SpaceX stock token, rSPCX. Users who make qualifying stock transfers can earn rewards on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the campaign’s terms.

  • Transfer $5,000: Receive $200 in rSPCX.
  • Transfer $20,000: Receive $800 in rSPCX.
  • Transfer $50,000: Receive $2,000 in rSPCX.

Eligible users can also receive 14-day trading fee rebate vouchers worth $50 or $150, depending on the transfer amount. The campaign aims to encourage more users to transfer their existing stock holdings to Bitget as the exchange expands its tokenized stock offerings.

What Bitget’s Stock Transfer Feature Means for Investors

Tokenization allows traditional assets, such as stocks, to be represented on a blockchain and used in digital financial services. By allowing users to transfer existing stocks from traditional brokerage accounts, Bitget makes it easier for investors to enter the tokenized asset market.

The company also plans to expand how users can use these assets through trading, lending, yield products, and potentially as collateral.

However, wider adoption will depend on how easy transfers are, which assets are supported, trading liquidity, fees, and the terms attached to each token.
